To let your Congress Members know how you feel, on any topic, copy and paste https://www.congress.gov into the address bar of a browser window and look for the 'Contact Your Member' heading. Enter your zip code or address in the place provided, and you'll get a short list of your members with contact information.
Typing a quick note is perfectly fine. The emails they receive are tabulated by subject, and whether you are for or against an issue or bill. Only a few actually make it to your Congress Member. And those sometimes get quoted! Every email helps them stay informed. No matter what you want to say, your email is important.
